The primary and secondary coils of an ordinary transformer are concentrically mounted on an iron core column, with a low-voltage winding inside and a high-voltage winding outside. (The primary and secondary coils of the welding machine transformer are installed on two iron core columns respectively).
When the transformer is operating with load, when the secondary current increases, the transformer must maintain the main magnetic flux in the core unchanged, and the primary current must also increase accordingly to balance the secondary current.
The secondary active power of the transformer is generally = transformer rated capacity (KVA) × 0.8 (transformer power factor) = KW.
Power transformers mainly include:
A. Moisture absorber (silica gel cylinder): It is filled with silica gel. The insulating oil in the oil conservator (oil pillow) is connected to the atmosphere through the moisture absorber. The desiccant absorbs moisture and impurities in the air to keep the internal windings of the transformer in good condition. Insulation performance; silicone discoloration and deterioration can easily cause blockage.
B. Oil level gauge: reflects the oil level status of the transformer, which is generally around +20O. If it is too high, drain the oil; if it is too low, add oil. In winter, when the temperature is low and the load is light, the oil level does not change much, or the oil level drops slightly; In summer, when the load is heavy, the oil temperature rises and the oil level also rises slightly; both are normal.
C. Oil pillow: adjusts the oil volume in the oil tank to prevent excessive oxidation of the transformer oil. There is a filling hole on the upper part.
D. Explosion-proof pipe: To prevent sudden accidents from causing explosion risks caused by pressure build-up in the fuel tank.
